Facilitator Community of Practice (FCoP)

FCoP will begin Tuesday, October 13, and will meet the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month from 2pm-3:30pm on Zoom.

FCoP is for individuals who are currently facilitating learning communities, trainings/workshops, classes, committees, and any other work/learning spaces. The program provides an opportunity for facilitators working on campus and in the greater Madison area to share best practices, strategies/approaches, and resources, as well as to build community together. FCoP will serve mainly as a space for us to discuss our roles and practice how best to do our work.

Some of the learning outcomes for FCoP are the following:

  • To gain understanding of how power, privilege, and systemic oppression operate in relationships & communication and can impact your facilitation style;
  • To identify your own strengths and challenges as a facilitator;
  • To gain a better understanding of group dynamics and community-building;
  • To explore ways in which your work as a facilitator lives into the mission of the University or your organization.
